There are growing calls for consumers to boycott Apple purchases tomorrow in response to the mass shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida. Apple is one of three companies being targeted by the #March1NRABoycott as it offers access to NRAtv through Apple TV … Activists say that that the NRA’s TV channels incite violence, reports HuffPost. Business Insider notes that one NRAtv program wants to actually make it easier for people to obtain assault weapons of the type used in the latest school shooting....

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 writer and director James Gunn reveals he cut the scene that had the most Easter eggs. Gunn had a lot of fun with comic book fans everywhere when he made the first Guardians of the Galaxy film, especially when it came to including nods and Easter eggs to characters and artifacts from the comics. Most notably, The Collector’s (Benicio del Toro) showroom wound up being a treasure trove of Easter eggs for fans to spend their time freeze-framing and picking through, with appearances from both Cosmo the Spacedog and Adam Warlock’s cocoon....

After five progressively more bizarre seasons, the gritty and outlandish crime drama recounting Jim Gordon’s early years in the Gotham City Police Department came to a close. For a series inspired by the Batman comic book mythos, it had the unenviable task of ending in a way that would herald the Caped Crusader’s inevitable arrival. While normally a Gotham series without a strong Batman presence would have been tantamount to sacrilege, viewers became invested in the colorful characters that surrounded his origins more than superhero himself....

Every drama on television needs to have an element of crazy to it, or at least an element of being slightly unbelievable. If they didn’t, they wouldn’t be called dramas. However, Grey’s Anatomy manages to seize the concept of ‘crazy’ and take it to a whole new level. The show has never shied away from major stunts and disasters (anyone recalls the plane crash in Season 8?) but its second season seems to incorporate more than its fair share of insanity....

Director Guy Ritchie and Jason Statham’s untitled new movie is already done shooting. The filmmaker and actor go back a long ways. Statham made his screen debut in Ritchie’s very first feature-length effort, 1998’s Lock, Stock, and Two Smoking Barrels, and would go on to work with him again on his second, Snatch, two years later. The pair earned largely positive reviews for their snappy gangster-crime flicks, allowing Ritchie to stand out alongside the many other Tarantino imitators that emerged in the late ’90s (post-Pulp Fiction), and sending Statham on his way to becoming the bonafide action star he is today....

Apple made a big, polarizing splash when it announced its new wireless AirPods during last week’s iPhone 7 keynote. At the time, reports referred to the feature as “Nearby” and described it as a location-based feature for Android devices in close proximity to one another. Kudos to Marco Arment, the Instapaper developer, for tweeting the above photo which clearly shows the “Arriving Friday, December 9” temporary signage adorning Apple’s trademark black curtain used to tease a forthcoming grand opening. State Comptroller Thomas DiNapoli plans on taking a closer look at Apple’s dirt cheap deal with MTA, which leased store space in Grand Central Terminal at a bargain price of just $60 per square foot (works out to $800,000 during the first year) versus the $200+ per square foot most other tenants pay....

Commenting on Andy Inhatko’s article on iOS storing user’s location data, Daring Fireball‘s John Gruber reveals that iOS storing user’s location information is in fact a bug. The bug comes down to a consolidated.db being in place. This file is supposed to store a user’s recent location information to work with iOS and iOS applications, but, due to a bug, does not delete older location information. Gruber “wagers” that the bug will be fixed in a future release of iOS, and we tend to agree with him....
