James Gun may have just been rehired by Disney to direct Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, but Dave Bautista, who plays Drax in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, hinted at Gunn’s return before anything was made official. Among many others - including actors involved with the Guardians of the Galaxy franchise - Bautista has stood in Gunn’s defense ever since he was let go. Last summer, some crude tweets from Gunn’s now-deleted Twitter account surfaced that painted the filmmaker in a negative light....

Google updated its Google Search iPhone app to version 2.0.0 today, which introduced a completely redesigned app that focuses on improvements to speed and full screen browsing features. Among the new features are an auto full screen mode that hides controls when scrolling down and reveals when scrolling up, and a new full-screen image search view. The updated app also includes “major speed improvements,” a built-in text finder for webpages, and quick links to Gmail, Calendar, Docs, and search options such as images, places, and news....

Google today updated its Shopper app for iPhone with the ability to browse nearby offers provided by the Google Offers local deals service, which is available only in select U.S. cities. What’s more, you can purchase deals (discounted up to 50 percent) and subscribe to offers for your city, both from within the app. Google Shopper is a free download for iPhone and iPod touch from the App Store. The Shopper app launched on iPhone in February, enabling users to scan product bar codes or search for product information using voice or text....

There’s every chance that the DCEU’s eventual Green Lantern movie won’t revolve around Hal Jordan, since that’s the version Ryan Reynolds played in his despised 2011 movie and Warner Bros. will likely want to distance themselves from that as much as possible. Google today announced the release of LiquidFun 1.1, an update to the open-sourced 2D physics engine originally released last December. New in today’s release is browser support and this allows games using the engine only found on Android devices to be ported over as Chrome extensions. Also new in the update is iOS support. Google says previous versions of the engine could be modified to work on iOS, but today’s update brings native support to the platform....

Want to use Google Voice on your iPhone? Finally, there is an official app for that. Earlier today Apple and Google finally worked through their differences and brought the real Google Voice to the iPhone. The app works as expected, much like what many Android users have been enjoying for some time now.
