After going hands-on with iOS 13 and iPadOS 13, it’s now time to lend attention to macOS Catalina top features. This latest Mac software update is headlined by the dissolution of iTunes in favor of three new standalone apps for Music, Podcasts, and TV. Update: Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman refutes Gruber’s claims about HomePod and Apple TV. Gurman says he’s been told both are sold at a profit. On this week’s episode of his podcast ‘The Talk Show,’ John Gruber shared some interesting details about Apple’s pricing of the Apple TV and HomePod. Citing a “reliable little birdie,” Gruber says that the Apple TV is actually sold at cost, whereas Apple sells the HomePod at a loss....

Grand Theft Auto 5 Online has added a new competitive racing game mode called Open Wheel Racing to its multiplayer in its latest update. With this new update also came two new Formula One-style cars, seven new race tracks, and the new Kinetic Energy Recovery System (KERS), a rechargeable speed boost. All of which were made for this new faster and more technical F1 style racing. GTA Online allows players to host and join customizable racing lobbies with a variety of different racing types....

Fan-favorite auteur Guillermo del Toro has talked with Lucasfilm’s Kathleen Kennedy about ideas for Star Wars. Back when Disney first announced that they were going to be making more films in a galaxy far, far away, after buying Lucasfilm in 2012 from George Lucas, fans everywhere began instantly talking about the dream directors that they’d want to see make one of those Star Wars film. One of the most recurring names in all of those lists was del Toro, and it wasn’t especially hard to see why....

It was back in 2013 that the first blueprints of handguns appeared online for public consumption. The gun in question was the Liberator, a gun which cost only $25 to print and was able to fire eight rounds in a single barrel. The CAD files for the weapon were released by Defense Distributed, ran by Cody Wilson, which was the first organization to make 3D printed gun blueprints open-source. This led to a modified design called the “Lulz Liberator” being released by a third-party which could be printed through a commercially-available printer....

Like it always does, Apple released new silicon and leather cases for its latest iPhones. Outside of the obvious camera hole differences, the silicon case remains the same. The leather case, on the other hand, received a subtle, yet notable change. As we pointed out last week, Apple’s new iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus Leather Case now comes with machined aluminum buttons. As a result, the volume buttons and Sleep/Wake button now have a much more tactile feel that’s significantly more pleasing to use than before....

Earlier this year at CES, Seth and I had the opportunity to test drive the new Chevy Volt hybrid (okay, I actually just held the camera in the back seat) which has one of the best CarPlay screen we’ve seen yet. It took 884 photographs, months of planning, and 5.5 hours of labor to complete but Clay Bavor, Google Group Product Manager, and other Google employees created a GIANT Google Logo Mosaic using 4”x6” photographs. Where did they get the pictures? Google employed photographers of course. Last week Google updated its logo with a new look. You’re probably thinking “Huh.. it looks the same!” You’re right, except they’ve removed the shadows and improved the reflective lighting on each letter....

Fresh off congratulating the Suicide Squad makeup department for its Oscar win, director David Ayer is hard at work developing his next project for the DC Extended Universe, Gotham City Sirens. Based on the comic series of the same name, the film already has Margot Robbie attached to reprise her role as Harley Quinn. Ayer has also teased that Catwoman and Poison Ivy will join Harley Quinn, as they did in the comics....
