Google has announced a $1 billion investment in Australia over the next five years, including establishing its first Australian research hub, increased cloud capacity, and partnerships with local organizations such as the CSIRO. The IT giant’s Digital Future Initiative, its greatest investment in Australia to date, is estimated to support over 6000 new direct employment and over 28,000 overall jobs in the country. By investing in providing businesses with a secure platform for business transformation, Google hopes to help set the stage for Australia’s digital economy, especially as the country aspires to be a digital leader by 2030....

Gotham was more often about enemies than it was friends. The series saw Bruce Wayne and Jim Gordon frequently make the difficult decisions to ally with those who would be villains. Update: Separate tests by software engineer Dan Loewenherz show that a 10w charger is the sweet-spot if you’re looking to balance charging time against cost and portability. The iPhone 8 and the upcoming iPhone X both support fast charging via Apple’s 29W USB-C adapter and USB-C to Lightning Cable. Apple says that by using fast charging, your iPhone can charge up to 50% in as little as 30 minutes. Unfortunately, the official first party charging accessories — its 29W USB-C Power Adapter ($49), and its 1-meter USB-C to Lightning Cable ($25) — cost nearly $75 combined....

A Google Stadia executive said the game streaming platform will have “way better” multiplayer connectivity than what’s possible on consoles, potentially allowing for “thousands of people” playing together in the same game world. The proliferation of cloud-based gaming services like Stadia are seen by some as a sign of the death of traditional game consoles. Gotham has revealed its final Joker design, and while the reaction online has been fairly negative, the look works well enough within the context of the show. One other device that was presented at MWC 2013 by ASUS was the Fonepad, which, I’m sad to say, it didn’t impress too much. I find it ridiculous to talk with such a big device, unless you use wireless headphones. From the get-go, the ASUS Fonepad looked like a Nexus 7 or like the Asus MeMo Pad but with a face lift.
